Kangaroo Kards
After another fruitless afternoon spent trudging around the shops looking for suitable greetings cards to send to family and friends, Alan Freeman came up with the idea for his business, Kangaroo Kards. He explains how Sage Pay helped him turn his pet hate into a profitable business…
Kangaroo Kards was established in spring of 2007 as a retailer of high quality greetings cards. It became apparent after Alan discussed his business idea with others, that they too had encountered problems finding cards with interesting images suitable for different occasions. “After realising that so many people had this problem, my business model began to come together”, says Alan.
Small steps
With a background in market research and marketing services, Alan appreciated the importance of having a comprehensive and attractive website as well as clear and easy to use payment pages for his customers.
Both his website developer and payment software programmer recommended Sage Pay as his payment gateway because of its easy integration and succinct payment pages. “After reviewing the alternatives, I was convinced this was the best option for my business” Alan comments. “The charging structure is clear and transparent and Sage Pay's site is very easy to navigate”. Within just a couple of months of setting up his business, Alan was trading with a fully functioning website and payment service.
By running his business purely online, Alan is able to keep his overheads low and therefore pass these savings on to his customer’s. Typically Kangaroo Kards are between 25%-40% cheaper than on the high street. And Sage Pay's all-inclusive pricing helps to make accepting card payments online more profitable for businesses like Alan's.
