Pod1 dramatically improves security for e-commerce with new payment application
Creative digital agency Pod1 has partnered with Sage Pay, the UK's leading independent payment service provider, to develop a new payment application module for Magento, the open source e-commerce software platform.The module includes iFrame technology and has been designed to make PCI DSS compliance easier for all retailers on the Magento platform.
One of the main challenges e-commerce merchants face is the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which is a set of guidelines designed to protect customer card details from fraudulent use. “Becoming compliant is often time-consuming and can be extremely expensive, so a payment solution that mitigates risk and reduces cost is a priority for many e-commerce businesses,” said Roy Rubin, CEO of Varien, the Magento company. This new module removes the need for a full PCI audit and reduces the PCI DSS overhead to a bare minimum. It is fundamentally a more secure method of online payment and will result in added peace of mind for both the retailer and the buying customer.”

Sage Pay’s in-line frame (iFrame) technology enables the merchant to fully customise their payment pages in order to create the same look and feel as the overall website, maintaining a seamless check-out experience.
