About The 3rd Man

Founded in 2001, the 3rd Man Limited has designed and developed a fraud screening solution specifically for retailers.

Up until 2001, all fraud preventions services tended to assume that all transactions were fraud unless proven otherwise. This assumption resulted in much business being turned away and is fundamentally flawed. The 3rd Man believed that a new service designed for retailers would succeed.

About GateKeeper

GateKeeper is a tool that has been developed by The 3rd Man. It enables you to view potentially risky transactions on line and provides a prioritised referral queue so you can work through potentially fraudulent transactions chronologically. GateKeeper will allow for cross referencing and pattern recognition amongst millions of transactions, giving you additional ability to halt fraudulent transactions before they are shipped.

Having your own GateKeeper account means that you can review your transactions without having to contact Sage Pay customer services, although we are always here to help if you have any fraud results that you are unsure of.

Within GateKeeper the results of transactions can be reported and you can review any transactions that are referred as being potentially fraudulent. If you notice fraud on a transaction, you can report the transaction in GateKeeper as fraudulent, meaning that any future attempts using similar details will be marked as potentially fraudulent. This community effort ensures that even when fraud occurs, the chances of the fraudster successfully repeat fraud attempts are limited.
